Matthew 5:43-48, Matthew 6:9-14

Love Your Enemies 5:43-48

"You have heard that it was said, 'Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.' But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and send rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that? Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.

Prayer, Matthew 6:9-14

This, then, is how you should pray: Our Father in heaven, hallowed (holy) be you name, your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is on heaven give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our debts (trespassers), as we also have forgiven our debtors (as we forgive those who trespass against us). And lead us not into temptation, but deliver from the evil one (evil).
